A cold case murder mystery game for iOS

Somatry: Cold Case Mystery is a story-driven detective game from Viral App Labs LLC. Read records, flag evidence and submit reports across 50 fictional cold cases. It is in development, with an iOS launch planned for October 22, 2026.

The mystery is in the record.

A murder has already happened. What remains is a file: messages, interview transcripts, logs and reports that do not make sense until you connect them. Somatry asks you to explain who did it, how, why and when.

The central interaction is reading and reasoning. You examine records, press and hold to flag a detail, and use flagged evidence in your report. The Bureau tells you how many answers are right, never which ones, leaving you to return to the evidence and test your explanation.

Every case can be solved with the clues in its file. When you are stuck, each case includes three Consults with a colleague, never for sale.

A word from the case file

Somatry (n.)

The science of what the dead leave in writing.

A message outlives its sender. A name stays in a log. An interview waits in a file, holding the detail everyone missed.

In Somatry, the people are gone. Their words are still here. Your work begins with what they left behind.

Who is Somatry for?

Somatry may suit you if the part of a mystery you enjoy most is testing an alibi, finding a contradiction or noticing that two records describe the same event differently. Its appeal is the connection between details: a time reference, a document and an explanation that finally fits.

  • For readers of case files: the story is investigated through records, including messages and interviews.
  • For players who enjoy deduction: a report needs a killer, method, motive and moment that fit the evidence.
  • For players drawn to connected settings: Coldmere, Ashport and Palewater provide three jurisdictions for 50 cold cases and one conspiracy.

The interactive evidence illustration gives you a feel for the read, flag and report flow. It is a website preview, not a playable case.

Fictional mysteries, clinical case files

Somatry’s cities, victims and killers are invented. Deaths happen before the game begins and are never shown; the files are clinical rather than graphic. The game still concerns murder and the circumstances around it, so its subject matter is part of deciding whether it is for you.

A complete first case, free at launch

Case 1 will be free and complete. The Coldmere County in-app purchase unlocks the other 49 cases in the 50-case base collection, with no subscriptions, ads or in-game currency. Cases can be played offline; purchasing and restoring purchases need a connection to the store.

Somatry is coming to iOS phones, with tablets running the phone version. Check the release date and availability page before planning to download. For data handling, read the Privacy Policy.

More of Coldmere County is coming

Somatry: Coldmere Stories, the first announced expansion, will feature all nine county cities. The base-game purchase covers the 50-case, three-city collection; DLC release and purchase details will be announced separately.
