What is Somatry: Cold Case Mystery?
Somatry: Cold Case Mystery is a story-driven murder mystery game for iOS from Viral App Labs LLC. Investigate the base collection of 50 cold cases across Coldmere, Ashport and Palewater in fictional Coldmere County by reading records, flagging evidence and submitting case reports.
What does the word Somatry mean?
Somatry (n.) The science of what the dead leave in writing. This is an invented definition created for Somatry: Cold Case Mystery. It describes the game’s focus on investigating fictional cold cases through written records, messages and evidence.
When will Somatry be released?
Somatry is currently in development and scheduled to launch on October 22, 2026 for iOS. The first case will be free and complete at launch.
Which devices will Somatry support?
Somatry is coming to iOS phones at launch. Tablets will run the phone version.
Is Somatry free to play?
The base game has one in-app purchase, Coldmere County, which gives access to the complete 50-case collection across Coldmere, Ashport and Palewater. Case 1 is free; the purchase unlocks the remaining 49 cases. There are no subscriptions, ads or in-game currency.
How do you investigate a case in Somatry?
Read message threads, interview transcripts, gate logs and other records. Press and hold to flag evidence, then submit a report identifying the killer, method, motive and moment. The Bureau tells you how many answers are right, never which ones.
How many cases and cities are in Somatry?
The base game has 50 cold cases across three cities of fictional Coldmere County: Coldmere, Ashport and Palewater. One conspiracy connects the files. The announced Coldmere Stories expansion will feature all nine county cities; its case count has not been announced.
What is Somatry: Coldmere Stories?
Coldmere Stories is the first announced Somatry expansion, coming soon. It will feature all nine cities of Coldmere County: Coldmere, Ashport, Palewater, Vigil Bay, Kestrel Ridge, Sablemoor, Fenmouth, Shalefall and Lowwater. The exact release date, case count, price and purchase requirements have not been announced.
Does the Coldmere County purchase include future DLC?

Are the county archive stories actual cases or player-written fan fiction?
The county archive is original world fiction published by Somatry. Its place descriptions and fictional document excerpts expand the setting for readers. They are not actual case evidence, case solutions, player-submitted stories or a confirmed list of playable DLC missions.
Can I play Somatry offline?
Every case is stored on the device and can be played offline. Purchases and restoring purchases require a connection to the store.
Does Somatry offer hints if I get stuck?
Each case includes three Consults with a colleague, never for sale. Every case can be solved with the clues in its file.
Is Somatry based on real murders?
No. Every case is fiction. The cities, victims and killers are invented. Deaths happen before the game begins and are never shown; the case files are clinical rather than graphic.
Who makes Somatry?

Does Somatry collect my personal data?
Somatry has no accounts and never asks for your name or email address. On first open, the app sends one anonymous install record, which our server stores with the IP address and the country, region, city and network provider that a third-party IP location service looks up from it. The record is not linked to you, not used for advertising or tracking, and never sold. It is shared only with the service providers named in the privacy policy. If you contact support, your email and message are used to answer you and resolve the issue. The privacy policy explains how game progress, the install record, purchases and support emails are handled.
How do I restore a Somatry purchase or request a refund?
Open a locked case and choose Restore purchases on the store screen, using the same store account as the original purchase. Refund requests are handled through the App Store.
