The season in the brochure
Printed views favor the same angle: boats in the foreground, bright windows behind them and no service entrance in sight. The district looks different from the maintenance path, where replacement chairs and cleaning equipment wait beneath covers. Both views are real within the fiction. One was simply designed to be reproduced more often.
An empty berth has an owner
A space without a boat is not necessarily available. Names remain on berth lists while owners travel, repairs continue or arrangements are disputed. A visitor sees open water; the marina office sees a schedule of commitments. The gap between those views creates the district's quiet administrative drama.
Repairs before arrivals
In the county archive, workers restore a guest terrace whose next booking has not been confirmed. A task list proceeds with greater certainty than the reservation book. The story follows that patient investment in a future season, showing how a place can remain active while the reason for its activity is still only expected.
From the fictional county archive
Do not remove the berth name while the vessel is away for repairs. The booking remains in the owner's file.
