Spiteri, Gino. 64. Manager of the Terebinth, on the front at Marina Sol, twenty-six years. Found at half past six on a Sunday morning in October, eight years ago, at the post of the resort's service-yard gate, by the bread van's driver. Dr. Marchetti: a crush injury across the upper body, between the gate and its post; he did not live long after it. Window 11:30 PM Saturday to 2:30 AM Sunday. The Palewater police found the night's takings in the safe and nothing missing, and closed it as an accident at locking-up. His phone went to property locked. The lab has opened it. This year Palewater records asked the tax office for what it took from the Terebinth's safe two years later, the owners for their letters, and four people where they were that night. The tax office's copies stand. Four names. -V
