Where a line becomes a place
From a distance, Sablemoor seems to gather around the lit buildings above the moor. Up close, the city is full of boundaries: walls ending at wet grass, paths passing a gate and hedges that follow an older survey. In this original fiction, the most persistent disputes are sometimes about names. A field can appear under one name in a lease and another on the tongue of someone who crosses it daily.
Around the inhabited edge
Moor Gate is the arrival district, shaped by the road and its carriers. Bellwether Close gathers homes and meeting rooms. The Tithe Gardens holds former estate ground and a glasshouse, while Blackridge Edge turns toward woodland trades and the tree line. Each district has a different way of deciding where the city stops. None can quite make the others use the same definition.
The weather in the margins
A rain-marked boundary plan, a nursery label and an amendment to a parish notice are small documents with long afterlives. They are the material of Sablemoor's county stories. The landscape need not hide a crime to hold an unresolved question. These entries are published setting fiction for mystery readers; their invented districts expand the map's city name without promising particular missions, suspects or outcomes in the DLC.
