Bureau opening brief
Canavan, Deirdre. 61. Partner, Canavan & Fitzgibbon, attorneys, 52 Wick Street, Ashport, thirty years on the street. Found at 11:52 on a Friday night, nearly eight years ago, by the fire service, in the front room of the firm's floor. The Ashport coroner's office: a single blunt injury; dead before the fire; no other injury. Window 9:30 PM to 11:45 PM. Worked as a homicide by a person unknown. Rain all night, no camera on the street, nobody seen going in, and the fire took most of the firm's papers. Filed open. Her phone was in her coat and went to property locked. The lab has opened it, and has parted two pages of her diary that dried stuck together. This year Ashport records asked Dunphy Warehousing, a client of the firm, for its letters of that week. The fire service's report stands. Four names. -V
