Lipka, Zofia. 58. Caretaker, Block 7, the Tidewall, sixteen years; her lodge was 1D, stair D. Found at 6:40 on a Sunday morning, three years ago, in the harbor at the foot of the steps behind stair D, by two porters going down to the fish dock. The Ashport coroner's office: drowned, no injury. Window 11:00 PM Saturday to 4:00 AM Sunday. It rained all night. On rain nights she cleared the gratings on the seawall walk at one. The team filed an accident. Her phone went to property dead with sea water. The lab has opened it. This year Ashport records asked the housing office for its papers and the port laboratory for its books. Nobody had asked before. The port laboratory's figures stand. Three names. -V
