Found at two minutes to midnight on a Thursday in October, six years ago, in the road at the foundry's main gate, by the two pickets coming on at midnight. The Ashport coroner's office: struck by a vehicle, death within minutes. Window 10:30 PM to midnight. It rained all night. This year Ashport records asked the port police for their desk book, the cook at the union hall for his, and five people where they were. One of them brought in her old phone. The desk book and the cook's book stand. Five names. -V
