Mewburn, Orla. 36. Kept the machines going at the laundry on Garland Road; flat 3A, stair C, Garland Block, Fenwick Flats, ten months. Found at 6:35 on a Wednesday morning, nearly three years ago, at the foot of the well of the stair, by a neighbor coming in. Dr. Bell: a fall down the well of the stair. Window 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM. Fog. The Coldmere police called it an accident on a dark landing and closed it in three days. Mrs. Wexley, 2A, wrote to them the Monday after. Her letter went into the file box unread. This year I read it, and went to see her. Her letter stands. Three names. -V
