The opening in the glass
The slot was made for coins and tickets. Now it admits folded paper, leaves and the occasional small object someone has found nearby. The office has become an unofficial lost-property box without anyone agreeing to staff it. From outside, it is impossible to tell which items arrived together and which have accumulated over several weeks.
A destination in a drawer
Unused ticket stock sits in shallow trays behind the counter. The destinations are sorted with an efficiency that the empty platform no longer needs. Each little stack describes a journey the station once made easy. The drawer handles are polished from use, while the paper inside has barely moved since the service ended.
The notice turned inward
A replacement closure notice leans against the glass with its printed side facing the office. Whoever brought it has not finished the job of displaying it. This minor incompletion gives the room its atmosphere. It appears to be waiting for a person to return from a short errand that has somehow become a long absence.
